NASCAR is an incredible experience, especially the first time. It’s all about the massive speedway, the crowds of people, the tailgating activities and the buzz of energy – not to mention sound – all around you.
It is because of this that we wanted to bring first-timers and fanatics, alike, out to Texas Motor Speedway for day two of our #ChevyTMS activities.
On Friday, April 8, we invited more than 80 of the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association (RHCA) members and others out to an afternoon with Chevy and NASCAR. We went behind-the-scenes for activities, such as going inside the race track infield for guided Pit Tours and getting behind the wheel of Chevy’s newest models, like the Camaro Convertible and Cruze.
“We had a great time and an experience I will never forget. It was a real thrill to go so fast and just enjoy the ride in a new Camaro,” said Lydia Gonzalez Welch, Founder & Principal at Latino Culinary Institute, who joined us for Thursday’s VIP event.
Some of the groups also participated in a special session with Juan Pablo Montoya, NASCAR’s first foreign-born driver to have multiple wins in NASCAR Sprint Cup history.
To top it off, RHCA members climbed onboard a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible and drove NASCAR professional drivers around the TMS track during Driver Introductions, prior to the race.
“We drove the pole-sitter, Dave Ragan (UPS car) around the track in the new convertible Camaro. It was truly an enjoyable and once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said David Utzman from Arredondo, Zepeda & Brunz, LLC, who participated in Driving Introductions on Saturday.
The roar of the NASCAR engine has now quieted, but the interest and excitement levels of potential fans is getting louder.
“Thanks so much for letting RHCA be a part of your NASCAR day. Our members enjoyed it so much. It was a great experience,” said Patricia Gorman from The Rodriguez Group.
Looking forward to next time!
