An extension of Chevy’s commitment to clean energy projects and youth baseball across the country, we teamed up with CBS EcoMedia to make renovations to Randol Mill Park’s baseball facilities and playground.
“We are working to help reduce carbon emissions in every aspect of our business, including programs like our partnership with CBS on EcoAds,” said Mark Harland, regional marketing manager for Chevrolet.
To help us dedicate the field before the project groundbreaking, Chevy invited the Texas Trees Foundation (TTF) and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.
The TTF helped us plant 10 trees in the park to add to our green-energy and environmentally friendly upgrades, including:
- A sustainable garden around the playground
- Energy-efficiency and water conservation measures in the new ballpark concession and restroom facility, including solar panels on the rooftop
- Signage to educate park visitors about the benefits of these eco-friendly measures, including 30 percent energy savings and 20 percent water savings
Arlington Mayor Pro Tempore Lana Wolff was also out at the dedication ceremony to introduce the Chevrolet Diamonds & Dreams program, which in 2011 will award 20 field renovations to little leagues nationwide. Make sure to register your favorite youth baseball team before May 31st to be entered to win.

With all of these eco-friendly upgrades sprouting up around the country, do you have any suggestions on how you and your community can begin to reduce your carbon footprint?

It's so great to see what Chevy is doing to make North Texas greener! It's programs like this that will create a lasting legacy for our children and grandchildren!
That’s exactly how we feel! We’re really excited about our carbon emission reduction program, and are going to be doing a lot more with green energy in the very near future, so stay tuned.
